Linda's Thoughts - I Need Your Feedback

First I must thank all of you that sent me emails about Spike winning the tag team title with Tazz, the European Title and the Hardcore title. As I told so many of you I still don’t remember Spike holding any title so I appreciate being set straight and again I have THE most knowledgeable readers on the net, so thank you. And because of all of you are so savvy, today is my Let Me Ask You A Few Questions column. It’s been a while since I’ve done this so let’s get right into it.

1. Let’s just say Steve Austin returns to WWE very soon. Should he go to Raw or Smackdown? Okay for me Stone Cold should go immediately to Smackdown. Especially if he continues not to wrestle. With Eric Bischoff as the GM for Raw I don’t think we need to see any more interaction between Austin and Bischoff. I believe that has run its course. So Austin goes to Smackdown, and causes some tension between guys like Kurt Angle, JBL, Booker and a few others. I feel that Smackdown, Steve Austin, and the fans would benefit greatly with Austin as a regular on Smackdown. So let me know what you think.

2. Triple H and Eugene are wrestling two out of three house shows this weekend. At the first house show Hunter lost to Eugene. Tonight they will take each other on again. Now should Hunter lose to Eugene at Summer Slam? I can’t see why Triple H should lose to Eugene at a pay per view. Hunter as won one pay per view match all year that was at Bad Blood against Shawn Michales. While it’s great Eugene gets the best of him on Raw a loss for Triple H in two weeks makes no sense. Although if William Regal was to interfere in Eugene’s behalf then I could see it. But to have Hunter cleanly lose to Eugene at Summer Slam would give Eugene way too much power.

3. And speaking of Eugene. How do you all feel about his push basically right to the top? Eugene is going up against Hunter at a major pay per view, is he deserving of all of this? This one made me take a deep breath. Eugene went from a newcomer and within a few short months he was given the ball to work with Flair, Hunter, Orton and Batista. He also had Rock put him over big time and Chris Benoit was right there with him. I have enjoyed Eugene a lot and I do look forward to his match at Summer Slam against Hunter, I don’t see how much more than can get out of that character. Unless they slowly drop him down to mid card status, then there’s a chance that the character can continue a little longer. But after his feud with Hunter I really can’t see how much more can be done with “Eugene” the way he is now.

4. I read this week that one of the matches rumored for the Raw brand is Edge vs. Batista vs. Chris Jericho for the IC title. Is it me or isn’t Chris Jericho past that? I can’t understand why Jericho has to go backwards. Batista vs. Edge I would enjoy and welcome. But adding a talent and a man that has made Raw so outstanding to that match really upsets me. Jericho should be in the World Title race, not the IC title race. I will never understand why Jericho isn’t the World champion. I will admit down the line a heel Edge vs. Y2J I will enjoy but as of now Jericho chasing the IC title is so ridiculous.

5. Raw has a super women’s division. Would you like to see some of the women like Molly, Victoria, Nidia or even Trish traded to Smackdown to give that show a strong women’s division as well? I get quite a bit of feedback asking me this very question. And a lot of these are guys that didn’t think much of women’s wrestling until Raw built up the division so well. They want to see Smackdown have the same thing. Sure Torrie and Dawn aren’t going to add to this division, and that’s okay, because they can still contribute as eye candy for the shows. Sable could be added to a women’s division but I believe she doesn’t want to wrestle anymore. Which again is okay as long as you bring some women from Raw over and then bring up some for OVW. Believe me if the women stunk on Raw I wouldn’t give a damn about Smackdown having a women’s division along with a title belt. But Raw has given us some great women’s matches I say yeah let’s see Vince get things going over at Smackdown and give the fans a new division to get excited about.

Okay so there’s your assignment please let me hear from you. I always look forward to what your thoughts are. Okay tomorrow night Randy Orton and Chris Benoit have a short time to build up their feud and match Summer Slam. And we all know that Hunter will be out for blood and I do mean Eugene’s blood after he ruined it for Hunter last week. I would imagine that a few matches are going to be made for Summer Slam. And with Raw in San Antonio, Texas is there a possibility that Shawn Michaels will show up? Or is it wishful thinking on my part? I will be back on Tuesday to talk about Raw and hopefully talk about all the new matches that they set up for Summer Slam.
