3PW returns to ECW Arena TONIGHT with Styles-Daniels-Sabin-Matthews

3PW returns to the ECW Arena tonight with an 8:00 pm belltime.

Matches scheduled:

  • FOUR WAY DREAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: "The Phenemonal" AJ STYLES vs. CHRIS SABIN vs. "Fallen Angel" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS vs. JOEY MATTHEWS (Low-Ki will miss the match due to a Pro Wrestling NOAH tour)

    Screw the Olympics. Forget the Xtreme Games. Hell, let go of every other dream match that you have ever seen. On August 21st, everything else will take a back seat to the what may be the greatest collection of talent ever to step foot in the same ring...at the same time. For the first time ever, four wrestlers, considered by many to be the best in the world, will fight for the opportunity that each feels he deserves: a shot at the 3PW Heavyweight Championship in September.

    Chris Sabin wants it. The debuting superstar from the Michigan area has been placed in this all-important match based on his reputation alone, and realizes that he has been given the opportunity of a lifetime. The youngest of the four, Sabin can climb the 3PW rankings, and earn a title shot quicker than anyone before him, by winning his first-ever match in Pro-Pain Pro. Easier said than done, but rest assured that the dark horse of this match is aiming to make everyone in attendance on August 21st "Hail Sabin".

    AJ Styles wants it. "The Phenemonal" one seems to be the people's choice, as his dynamic style has made him a true sensation with wrestling fans worldwide. He certainly has the ability to be the best, but can he shake the stigma of losing his recent no-time-limit showdown with Christopher Daniels?

    Christopher Daniels wants it. The "Fallen Angel" will enter this match with the most momentum, after last month's huge victory over AJ Styles. The master of mind games will therefore have an additional psychological advantage, but can he find a way to overcome three of the top superstars in the sport, all of whom he has had issues with in the past?

    Joey Matthews HAS it. By hook or by crook, the reigning Heavyweight Champion has consistently been able to reach into his bag of tricks and come up with a way to hold onto his title time and time again. Matthews has proven that he CAN match the top superstars in the sport in athleticism and ability, but often chooses to settle for cheap victories instead. On August 21st, the champ may have to check his bag at the door, and push himself further than ever before, if he hopes to emerge the victor against not one, but THREE top contenders.

    Victory. Pride. Respect. A shot at the 3PW Championship in September. The best wrestlers in the world today...in the same ring...at the same time. Undoubtedly, this will be one of the most talked-about "Match of The Year" candidates in quite some time.   • 3PW will crown it's first ever tag team champions!

    History will be made on August 21st...3PW style, of course, as FIVE of the baddest teams in the land will strive to become 3PW Tag team Champions. The rules are simple: all five teams will enter the ring in 5 minute intervals once the first two teams are in the ring to compete in an over-the-top free-for-all. When someone is thrown over the top to the outside, their team is eliminated, and both they and their partner must leave. Once 3 teams are gone, the final two duos will compete in a traditional tag match with pinfalls and submissions leading to victory, and the titles. Let's look at the five teams, hand-picked by 3PW Commissioner Tod Gordon:

    SLYK WAGNER BROWN & APRIL HUNTER: Slyk and April are 2-0 in tag team competition in 3PW, and look to ride that momentum to their first taste of gold. Both Brown and Hunter are graduates of the Killer Kowalski Wrestling Academy, and combine their learned killer instinct with a tremendous combination of power, athleticism and speed. Their partnership extends beyond the ring, but will it bring them the titles?

    DOUBLE TROUBLE (Rockin' Rebel & Jack Victory): These two veterans may argue amongst themselves, but when united, they are an extremely formidable team. Two of the dirtiest players in the game, Victory and Rebel are masters of old-school, no-nonsense brawling, and look to use that to their advantage on August 21st. They already think they are the 3PW Tag Team Champions, can they do it for real?

    BLUE MEANIE & ROADKILL: The biggest team in 3PW, Meanie and Roadkill have broken up, only to recently reform their team...and their friendship. This fun-loving duo has proven that, when focused, that they can hang with the best. Roadkill would like nothing better than to once again become a tag champ here in Philly, and Meanie would love to get his first 3PW gold, but can the popular pair regain their former chemistry?

    PITBULLS 2004 (Gary Wolfe & Mike Kruel): Jasmin St. Claire has resurrected a legendary tag-team name from the past, and has once again made the Pitbulls a feared moniker in Viking Hall. Wolfe and Kruel made their official debut as a team in July, soundly defeating Meanie and Roadkill in a wild grudge match. Now, these two powerhouses step in the ring with four other top teams, most of which have had their problems with Jasmin in the past. If the Pitbulls 2004 can avoid being bogged down with their manager's battles, will they continue their path of destruction...all the way to the gold?

    ROB ECKOS and "?????" STRIKER: Striker just wants to have fun. Whether it's "Macho" Striker, "The Ultimate Striker", or even "The Strikerman", it is apparent that the master of gimmick infringement would rather entertain the fans than win matches, a fact that has been a constant source of frustration for tag partner Rob Eckos. For months, Eckos has been promised us a newly focused, more serious Striker, only to be disappointed by his partner's continued shenanigans. In July, Eckos issued an ultimatum, claming that if if Striker didn't shape up in August, he would lose Rob as both tag partner and friend. On August 21st, with the tag team titles on the line, will Striker come around to his partner's way of thinking...or will this team crash and burn at the worst time possible?
