Linda's Thoughts - Unforgiven Predictions

At first I thought my picks for Unforgiven were going to be 100% right. But as I looked at the card there are two matches that aren’t so predictable. For the most part this pay per view looks good, not outstanding but good. There are only six matches so I’m guessing that a few will take up quite a bit of time. All right let me give you my winners for tonight’s show.

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match – Chris Jericho vs. Christian
Ladder Match, yeah that’s what’s going to make this one great match. I hate to see either guy get seriously hurt out there, but you know when Christian and Jericho are in matches like this one they give it their all. I’m looking forward to this one more than any other match tonight. I’m also going with Y2J, while I definitely believe Jericho deserves to be the World Champion, right now I’ll settle for Jericho the IC champion. I’ll tell you if Christian pulls this one out I’m not going to be happy and believe me it’s not against Christian, it’s just that Jericho deserves to win.
Winner: Chris Jericho

Women’s Championship – Trish vs. Victoria
Now you and I both know that this match is going to be worth watching. The only complaint I have is; this feud never got the attention it should have gotten. I would have loved to have seen some interaction out of the ring with both women. But back to the match. You have two of WWE’s best in the ring, they will do anything and I mean anything to make this exciting. I’m sticking with Trish, although I have to be honest with you I would not be surprised to see Stephanie Richards you know Stevie wearing women’s gear to help Victoria win. But I’ll stay with Trish because I don’t think WWE is ready to have a new women’s champion just yet.
Winner: Trish

Chris Benoit and William Regal vs. Batista and Ric Flair
You know I wish I could be a little more upbeat with this one. But I’m not expecting too much. Yes Chris Benoit will carry the match and I would like to think Batista will add a little something to it. But if Flair plays it too seriously and if Regal is totally serious then this match will not have much going for it. I have said this many times but let me say it again. Regal is fabulous on the mic but once he hits the ring he becomes kind of a bore. All right enough of that I’m going with the two members of Evolution to win and hopefully beat up Benoit and Regal after the match for some excitement.
Winners: Batista/Flair

Shawn Michaels vs. Kane, with Lita
So Shawn’s been out for three months after almost losing his life to Kane. And we all saw how healthy HBK was at the Republican convention. My point? Shawn is looking for payback, and if I was Kane I would worry. I have been waiting for this one. Finally Kane gets to face someone new and who better than Shawn Michaels. Now this and the World championship are the only two matches I feel can go either way. Kane should win because he has the power, the anger and his wife right there to do what she’s told. However, with Shawn coming back after such a brutal beating I’m going with HBK to defeat Kane. I am really looking forward to seeing these two guys go against each other.
Winner: Shawn Michaels

World Tag Team Championship – Rhyno and Tajiri vs. La Resistance
I think it’s time for a La Resistance lose, yeah I do. Rob Conway and Sylvan Grenier have held on to it long enough, plus I really want to see two former ECW guys Tajiri and Rhyno become champions. And then I want to see them turn heel and kick some ass. Now I’m getting ahead of myself but if Tajiri is in good health I expect to see him leave along with Rhyno with the belts. There is no doubt that when these four go at it the matches have been pretty damn good. I’m hoping for another decent one tonight
Winners: Tajiri and Rhyno

World Heavyweight Championship – Triple H vs. Randy Orton
This is the one where I noticed that so many of you that sent me your emails are split evenly between Hunter and Orton. Granted this definitely can go either way but I’m going with Randy. My logic? He just won it a month ago; I just can’t see him losing so fast. As far as the match itself? Again house show reports have all been extremely positive when it comes to these two. I don’t think this will be the match of the night but we all know what hard workers Triple H and Randy are so this should come off well.
Winner: Randy Orton

With only six matches I’m sure that we will see at least one more added. I’m looking forward to the show, but in so many ways the build up for some of the matches could have been so much stronger. Okay I’ll have some thoughts about Unforgiven on Tuesday with my Raw thoughts. I would just like to end by wishing all of you that are in Florida nothing but good luck with Hurricane Ivan. It saddens me that so many have endured so much with Hurricane Charlie and Hurricane Frances. I hope this is it for a very long time.
