Jersey All Pro Wrestling 6/4 Rahway, NJ results Posted by Bob Magee Jersey All Pro Wrestling returned to Rahway, NJ last night before a crowd of 500 plus, a better crowd than the promotion expected given the beginning of the summer season (and a nice day in the New York area). Some of those crowd included the Matt Hardy fans out in some force in full regalia.
Frank Iadevia came out at the beginning of the show and announced that Teddy Hart was not there (followed by a hilarious comment later in the evening by announcer Steve DeAngelis that "Hart missed the show because he was home watching himself on Velocity"). He then offered to give out Hart's cell phone number to anyone who wanted to confirm the no-show (in an unintentional homage to Dennis Coraluzzo, who once did the same when held up for an extortion payoff by Ahmed Johnson) and that refunds would be offered for anyone who wanted them, but promised a surprise "extreme" replacement for the Trent Acid match. No one appeared to leave to get refunds.
The Outcast Killaz defeated All Money is Legal by pinfall; after Tortuga held K-Pusha in a half Nelson, with Diablo Santiago nailing K-Pusha with a drop kick, which turned Tortuga's move into a form of a head drop/suplex
Excess 69 defeated Sexxy Eddy and Eric Cooper in a 3-Way dance to retain the EWR Heavyweight title; after Excess hit his new finish, a sick-looking swinging stretch muffler into a boston crab on Sexxy Eddy for the submission.
Matt Hardy came out to a loud reaction, doing largely the same promo he did at the JAPW show in Massachusetts, ripping on HHH, thanking the fans and doing a countdown to when his non-compete would expire.
The H Effect defeated Neeno Capone and Archadia after Dixie hit a neckbreaker on Arcadia
Trent Acid (with Johnny Kashmere, Billy Reil and 2 PWU female trainees) defeated The Sandman (subbing for the previously scheduled Teddy Hart). The finish saw a host of run-ins with Billy Reil finally nailing Sandman with the cane, staggering Sandman, following by Acid hitting a yakuza kick for the finish.
Thing started out with Acid and Kashmere going on a pre-match rant, trashing Hart for no-showing, and doing the standard "So who's this person who's extreme enough to handle me?"
Cue "Enter Sandman" and a crowd reaction even louder than for Matt Hardy.... The match itself was OK, kind of a clash of styles...but had to be a particularly interesting experience for Acid, who used to tell crowd members he was going to be a wrestler as he did moonsaults off the bleachers at the ECW Arena...then got to work one of those faces he saw when younger.
In a comedy match, Beef Wellington defeated Shark Boy
In the show-stealer, B-Boy defeated Azrieal for the JAPW Light Heavyweight Championship. These two tore down the house pulling out every false finish you could think of; with B-Boy FINALLY going over with a Storm Cradle Driver.
World Champion Jay Lethal defeated Steve Corino by pinfall (note to Frank: PLEASE find Lethal another finisher...the Dragon Suplex would be perfectly fine). Post-match, Corino and Ricky Landel jumped Jay Lethal, handcuffing to the top rope and attacked his father. For those not familiar, Lethal's mother and father (along with other family) are always at his east coast bookings and always have been since the beginning; including "Mrs. Lethal"'s high-pitched screams for her boy
JAPW returns to Rahway, NJ on Saturday, July 16th at 8:00 pm with ringside already sold out. Matches scheduled thus far are: Steve Corino and Ricky Landel vs Jay Lethal and his Father; and a JAPW Tag Team Title Match with Teddy Hart and Jack Evans against The Backseat Boys; plus the return of the Sandman ...
