WWF/WCW Invasion: 07-22-01

Clips were shown of how WCW and ECW came together and Shane introducing Stephanie as the new owner of Extreme Championship Wrestling. Paul Heyman talked about the death of Sports Entertainment and the World Wrestling Federation. Jonathan Coachman then talked about how the Rattlesnake is back to his old self to lead team WWF.
They then showed Vince trying to sing the Welcome back Kotter theme to Austin and Stone Cold smashed Vince's own guitar over his head in his locker room.
Hype for the Bra and Panties tag team match began. Stacy and Torrie talked about having better bodies and being more athletic than the women of the WWF. They showed clips of the WCW girls hitting on the Hardy Boyz. They also showed Lita telling Trish that they have problems, but they have to put them aside to support the WWF.
They showed the events that lead up to the WWF vs. WCW referee match. Earl Hebner's challenge to Nick Patrick and the numerous brawls between the WWF and WCW referees.
They showed DDP kidnapping Debra on Smackdown and the huge WWF/WCW brawl that broke loose right before he got away with her. Angle then got Booker T. in the ankle lock, but the Dudleyz came down and stopped it as the huge street fight continued to go on in the parking garage. In the ring, team WCW/ECW dominated Kurt Angle and the Dudleyz gave him the 3D through a table.
Match #1: Lance Storm & Mike Awesome vs. Edge & Christian
Lance Storm came out and got on the mic. He said it would be a historic match for numerous reasons and he would name them. He was interrupted by Edge and Christian's music and the two came down for the match.
Storm got off to a good start and took it to Christian. He finally tagged in Edge and he came right in with a missile dropkick. Storm was backdropped over the ropes and Christian tried to jump off Edge and hit the two men, but tripped on the top rope and barely got them.
Storm got Edge up top and then kicked him off the top to the outside. Mike Awesome attacked Edge on the outside and then rolled him back into the ring. Storm grabbed him by the hair. Storm grabbed Christian and slammed him under the bottom turnbuckle into the ring post.
Awesome was tagged in and he splashed Christian and went for the pin. Christian kicked out and then slammed his head into Storm's foot and tagged in his partner. Storm went for the pin and then whipped Christian off the ropes and hit him with a big knee to the gut. Christian was down and Mike was tagged back in. He nailed Edge and went to work on Christian.
Edge came in and stopped a pin on Christian from Awesome, which gave Christian the chance to gain some offense, but it was short lived. Storm was tagged in. He worked over Christian and then tagged Awesome back in. Awesome hit a huge splash off the top but Edge stopped the pin. Christian then nailed a superplex on Awesome off the top.
Edge was finally tagged in and he went to work on Storm. Awesome tried to come in but was hell kicked in the face. Storm ran at Edge but missed and Edge nailed him with a inverted DDT. Edge ran Storm into Christian who was on the ring apron and then got rolled up in a small package. Christian then rolled Edge over on top of Storm, but he kicked out of the cover.
Edge nailed Awesome with the spear and Storm broke the cover. Storm went for the superkick on Christian but missed and hit Edge. Awesome went for the pin and missed. Awesome stood up and Christian came in and hit him with the spear and then the pin to get the victory for the WWF. Winner: Edge & Christian
William Regal came into Vince's dressing room and told him that Austin and Debra were there and asked him if he wanted them to come talk to him. He said given the abduction thing with Debra, let them relax. He then told Regal to get ready for his match with Raven.
Match #2: WWF vs. WCW Referee Match Earl Hebner vs. Nick Patrick
Mic Foley's music hit and he came down to the ring with a referee shirt to officiate the match. Nick Patrick got the first offensive movies, but Hebner came right back and stomped away at Patrick and got the first cover. They began to brawl on the mat, throwing fists left and right. Hebner rolled out of the ring and all of the WWF and WCW officials almost got into it.
Hebner got back in the ring and nailed Patrick with 10 shots in the corner. Patrick hit Hebner with a shot to the spine and baseball slid kicked him out of the ring. The referees on the outside all started going at it and Mic sent the WCW refs to the back.
Hebner got back in the ring and went back to work on Nick Patrick. He knocked him down and got the 1-2-3 on him and got another victory for the WWF. After the match, Patrick got in Mic's face and pushed him. He was yelling at Foley and he just nailed him in the face and sent him to the ground. Foley pulled out Socko and gave Patrick the mandible claw with assistance from Mr. Socko.
Match #3: Tag Team Champions Match APA vs. Palumbo & O'Haire
The WCW tag champs came down to the ring and got right at it with Faarooq and Bradshaw. Bradshaw and Palumbo started off the match and Bradshaw nailed him quickly with a spinebuster and went for the early pin. O'Haire made the save and then was tagged in and went to work on Bradshaw.
Faarooq was tagged in and O'Haire was as well. He went to work on Faarooq and then tagged Palumbo back in. Bradshaw was tagged back in and threw shots at the head of Palubmo. Palumbo slammed Bradshaw into the corner and went for a cross body block, but Bradshaw caught him and hit the fall away slam. Bradshaw then hit a DDT and was down trying to make a tag.
He made the tag to Faarooq. He got Palumbo in a waistlock and O'Haire nailed him with a clothesline. They then double-teamed Faarooq and O'Haire then nailed him with a spinebuster and went for a cover. Faarooq finally made it over for a tag and Bradshaw came in and nailed Palumbo with a clothesline and then a powerslam.
Palumbo nailed Bradshaw with a boot to the face and Faarooq saved him from being pinned. Bradshaw waited on the side and as soon as Palumbo slammed down Faarooq, he nailed him with the clothesline from hell and got the pin and yet another victory for the WWF.
Winner(s): The APA
Chris Jericho was in the back telling Vince that he has been in both WCW and ECW and knows how they work. He said that WCW never really had a leader, but ECW always has in Paul Heyman. He said that he is an ugly man, but he is smart and they have to be careful since he passes the knowledge to Shane and Stephanie. They said WCW/ECW would never, ever be the same again.
Heyman then flipped out at Stephanie, Shane and Kidman and said they were losing and Kidman had to defeat X-Pac.
Match #4: Battle of the Cruiserweights
X-Pac vs. Billy Kidman
Both men got in the ring and the match began. They tied up and X-Pac got a nice arm whip and looked to the crowd for approval. They locked up again and X-Pac got the offense and he again smiled to the crowd. They locked up again and Kidman took him down and got him in a headlock.
Kidman nailed X-Pac with an inziguri that knocked him to the outside and then brought him back in to make the cover. X-Pac threw Kidman off the ropes and Kidman nailed him with a head-scissors takedown. X-Pac got up and threw Kidman to the outside and then nailed him with a marital arts kick and went for the cover.
X-Pac got Kidman in a sleeper hold and took him to his knees. Kidman got up and whipped X-Pac off the ropes and then got him in the same hold. X-Pac got up top and went for a high-risk move, but Kidman moved and X-Pac hit the mat hard. Kidman nailed him with an elbow to the face and then hit a short powerbomb.
X-Pac was backed into the corner and slammed Kidman down. He used the ropes for leverage but Kidman kicked out. Kidman went off the top and X_Pac countered and turned it into the X-Factor. Kidman somehow kicked out and went back to work on X-Pac. He took him down and went up top. He nailed X-Pac with the Shooting Star press and pinned him to get the first win for WCW/ECW.
Winner: Billy Kidman
In the back, DDP was saying that Debra was good, but she was no Sara. Shane got mad and said that was not what he needed to worry about. They then talked about the main event and taking down the WWF.
Torrie and Stacy were then shown talking in the back. Torrie said it was a shame that the crowd would have to see Trish in her bra instead of seeing her big breasts. Stacy then said that her ass was the best and it was a shame the crowd would not get to see it. She said she looks the best in panties… the only way she looks better is if she has none at all. They then walked out and Torrie slapped Stacy’s ass and said it was very firm.
Match #5: William Regal vs. Raven
Regal and Raven tied up and Regal backed Raven into the corner and went to work on him. Regal used the forearm shot and went for several covers. Regal then sent Raven to the outside over the top and bashed him while he was on the ring apron. Raven then got back in the ring and tossed Regal over.
Raven backed Regal into the corner and nailed him with a shoulder to the gut. He whipped him off the ropes and slammed him down and went for the cover. Regal fought back and suplexed Raven. He got right up and went to the middle rope and nailed Regal with a forearm shot.
Raven hit Regal with a bulldog and went for the cover. Regal then went for the full nelson and Raven threw his waist back and took Regal down. Regal then countered and got Raven in a pin. Regal whipped Raven off the ropes and hit him with a reverse elbow. He hit him with another suplex and got a 2 count.
Both men collided and Raven went to the outside. Taz then hit the ring and nailed Regal with the T-Bone Tazplex. Raven rolled back in and got the pin on Regal and added the second win for WCW/ECW.
Winner: Raven
Vince was in the back talking to Undertaker, Sara and Kane. He said they lost another one, but they have to focus on the Main Event and taking down WCW/ECW. He said they have to work as a unit tonight in the match. He reminded Taker of the stuff DDP did to Sara and named them one by one and Taker got mad and grabbed Vince by the throat and said it would be best of Undertaker tonight and left.
Match #6: 6-Man Tag Team Match
Sean Stasiak, Kanyon & Hugh Morrus vs. Big Show, Billy Gunn & Albert
Kanyon and Billy Gunn locked up in the ring and went at it. Kanyon worked over Gunn and then tagged in Stasiak. Gunn and Stasiak locked up and both men went down, but Gunn was able to tag in Albert.
Albert nailed Stasiak with a boot the face. Morrus came in and he took him right down and then grabbed Stasiak by the throat and slammed him down to the mat. Morrus pulled Stasiak over and tagged himself in and went to work on Albert. He hit a move and looked to hurt himself. Gunn was tagged in and he exploded with a Rocker Dropper on Morrus.
Stasiak came in and used Morrus’ momentum and got the pin on Gunn to get another victory for WCW. Big Show came in and nailed a huge choke slam on Stasiak and then hit his new move, the Alley on Chris Kanyon. The WWF team lost the match, but prevailed in the war.
Winner(s): Sean Stasiak, Kanyon & Hugh Morrus
Shane was talking to Booker T. in the back and told him to make it 4-3 for WCW and got him all pumped for the match. Booker T. got pumped and the two were yelling and going crazy.
William Regal then came to Tajiri and told him to take out that bloody Tazz and not only for him and Vince, but also for the WWF. They also went nuts and Tajiri left for his match.
The two ECW veterans went right at it and Tazz got the upper hand in the match. He hit several suplexes and was dominating the match. Tazz snap-marred him over and then threw the forearm shots at the face of Tajiri. Tazz looked to the crowd for approval and got nothing but jeers.
Tazz backed Tajiri into the corner and stomped away at him. Tajiri went for a big move in the corner and Tazz caught him and powerbombed him to the mat. Tajiri knocked Tazz out of the ring and went for a high-risk move, but Tazz grabbed him by the foot and pulled him off the ring apron. Tazz got back in the ring and waited for Tajiri to get back in. He came back in and locked Tazz in his patented move, the tarantula.
Tajiri released the hold and and kicked Tazz hard. Tazz took the shot and got Tajiri in the T-Bone Tazz plex. Tazz went to pick up Tajiri and he spit the green mist into Tazz’s eyes and pinned him to get another victory for the WWF.
Winner: Tajiri
Matt and Jeff Hardy were in the back talking and getting ready. Matt had his back to the door and Rob Van Dam ran in and attacked him with a chair and swung at Jeff and missed. Matt was down and Jeff helped him out and was very pissed.
They went to WWF New York and showed Hardcore Holly signing autographs. He was really nice to everyone and then a kid in a WCW shirt came up, he got in his face and ripped the shirt off his back and then went back to signing.
Match #7: Hardcore Championship Match
Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy and RVD went right at it and Jeff got the upper hand. RVD went for a move and Hardy caught him by the legs and almost got a 3. RVD went off the ropes and Jeff caught him and nailed him with an atomic drop. Van Dam picked up Hardy and hit him with a suplex and dropped him down head-first. He went for the pin and Jeff kicked out.
Van Dam knocked Jeff into the corner and went to whip him, but he countered it and pushed RVD out of the ring. RVD got up and Jeff nailed him with a baseball slide through the bottom rope. Jeff tried to run off the guardrail and RVD, but he messed up and RVD pushed him down. They then fought into the crowd.
Jeff slammed RVD into a barricade. RVD got on the railing and hit a moonsault and nailed Jeff squarely. He went for the cover, but only got a 2-count. RVD got Jeff back near the ring and draped him over the guardrail. He jumped off the ring apron and nailed Jeff with a spinning kick. He went for a cover and again, got a 2.
They fought to the outside and Jeff pulled a ladder out of the ring. Jeff went up to the top of the ladder and Van Dam ran back into the ring. RVD grabbed the ladder and started shaking it and pushed it over. The ladder fell and Jeff hit the ground hard.
RVD grabbed a chair and as he walked to Jeff, he pushed the ladder up and nailed Van Dam. Jeff grabbed the chair and nailed RVD with it. He chased him up the aisle with the chair. Jeff reared back to hit him with the chair and Van Dam nailed the Vandaminator and Hardy fell off the ramp to the concrete floor.
They got back up on the walkway and made their way back to the ring. Van Dam rolled Hardy back in and pummeled away at his face. He laid Hardy in the corner and grabbed the chair. He ran toward Jeff and hit another Vandaminator with the chair. Jeff’s head was split open and he came out and hit him with a DDT.
Jeff hit a German suplex on Van Dam and went for the pin. Van Dam came at Jeff and and got nailed. Jeff went upstairs and missed a big move on RVD. Van Dam laid the Hardcore title on Jeff and went upstairs. He hit the big splash on Jeff and pinned him to capture the Hardcore title.
Winner: Rob Van Dam
Vince was in the back and Kurt Angle came in to talk to him. He said it was enough with the Americano bullshit and he asked Vince if he knew what he did in 96’ at the Olympics. He said he knew and Angle said kicked major ass and would do the same in the main event.
Match #8: Bra and Panties Tag Team Match
Trish Stratus & Lita vs. Torrie Wilson & Stacy Keibler
The WWF ladies came down and went right on the attack on the WCW women. Torrie and Trish started the match. Torrie got the upper hand and then nailed her with a dropkick from behind. Torrie got her in the corner and Trish countered and hit a big clothesline.
Trish finally tagged in Lita and the WCW girls did not want to get in. Stacy got in the ring and Lita ripped off her shirt to reveal her yellow bra. She then grabbed her and pulled her pants and almost got them off until she was able to roll out of the ring.
Lita came right back in and women handled her around the ring and whipped her around by her hair. Stacy finally tagged in Torrie and Trish nailed her with a clothesline. She got Torrie in the corner, but Torrie countered and slammed her down by the hair. Torrie then stood on her hair and pulled up on her arms. Trish rolled her up and pulled off her pants. Trish’s shirt came off as well.
Torrie’s shirt was then ripped off by Trish and then Lita came over and they went to work on Stacy. Trish held down Stacy and Lita went up top and nailed her. They then each pulled off her pants together to win the match.
Winner(s): Trish & Lita
Team WCW/ECW was in the back getting ready for the match. Paul Heyman got them pumped by telling them they needed to want to become gods. They all got pumped and went crazy.
Austin was sitting in his dressing room and Vince came over to get him ready. Austin flipped out and said he didn’t need it and was ready to open a can of whoop ass and that was the bottom line!
Match #9: WWF vs. WCW/ECW Inaugural Brawl
Stone Cold Steve Austin, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Kane & Chris Jericho vs. DDP, Booker T., Rhyno & The Dudley Boyz
The brawl broke out in the aisle. Both teams went at it in the ring. Austin and Booker T. brawled and Booker was bashed into the railing. Austin then went after Rhyno and they got in the ring. Austin hit a low blow and then backed Rhyno into the corner and stomped away at him.
Austin slammed Rhyno down and then whipped him off the ropes. He nailed him with a Lou Thesz press and then nailed him with 10 shots to the face. Austin picked up Rhyno and picked him up to the top rope and nailed him with knife-edge chops. Austin then went up and hit him with a superplex.
Austin tagged in Jericho and he went to work on Rhyno. He nailed him with knife-edge chops as well and threw him off the ropes and nailed him with a clothesline. Jericho got backed into the corner and all of WCW/ECW teamed up on him. Booker T. was tagged in and he went to work on Jericho. Jericho took the advantage and nailed him with a shoulder block. He went for the cover, but Rhyno stopped it.
Jericho had Booker by the hair and tagged in Kurt Angle. Angle stomped away at Booker, but then got nailed with the spinning heel kick. He then tagged in D-Von and he whipped Angle into the corner. He followed up and got a forearm to the face and then Kane was tagged in.
Kane got D-Von in the corner and worked him over. Kane picked up D-Von and nailed him with the sidewalk slam. He went for the cover and DDP broke the count. DDP came in again and stopped Kane and then D-Von was able to get a quick offense, but Kane took him right back down with another slam. D-Von then tagged in his ½ brother Buh Buh.
Kane went upstairs and nailed Buh Buh. Kane got Buh Buh in a headlock and reached over and tagged in Taker. Taker threw fists at Buh Buh and then hit a neckbreaker. He nailed him with a legdrop and then went up top.
Taker held onto Buh Buh and jumped off the top onto his arm. Rhyno was then tagged in and he went to work on Taker. DDP was tagged in and Taker shot right up and tried to go at him, but DDP had the upper hand. DDP hit a clothesline and then went for a cover.
Booker T. was tagged in and he nailed Taker with the sidekick. Booker swung Taker into ropes and he reversed it and hit a clothesline. Taker pulled up Booker and tagged in Austin. The Rattlesnake got Booker in the corner and stomped away at him. Booker turned it around and whipped him back into the opposite corner.
Austin clotheslined him from behind and took Booker out of the ring. Austin whipped Booker into the guardrail and then suplexed him back to the outside mat. Austin got him back in the ring and tagged in Jericho. He went for the Lionsault and missed Booker but landed on his feet. Booker took him down and tagged in D-Von.
The Dudleyz both got in and went to work on Jericho. Buh Buh was tagged in and he stomped away at Jericho and then slammed his head into the turnbuckle. He threw forearms at Jericho until he fell down and then tagged back in D-Von. They double whipped Jericho into the corner, but Jericho ducked the clothesline and took down D-Von.
All 3 men in the ring were down and Jericho finally tagged in Angle. Angle whipped Buh Buh right into D-Von in the corner. Angle went for the cover on D-Von and Buh Buh stopped it. Buh Buh hit a slam on Angle and then D-Von nailed him with a leg drop. Rhyno was then tagged in and he worked over Angle in the corner.
Buh Buh and Angle then went at it again in the ring. Buh Buh had control and tagged back in D-Von. D-Von tagged in Booker and and held onto Kurt so he could take cheap shots. Booker hit the big kick again and went for the cover. He tagged in DDP and they double-teamed Angle in the middle of the ring.
Austin was sent back to his corner on the outside after he wandered toward the WCW/ECW side. Angle was slammed by DDP and almost pinned for the 3. D-Von was tagged in again and he hit the legdrop on Angle and then tagged DDP right back in.
DDP slammed Angle down and then got him in a front facelock on the ground. Angle muscled out of it and almost slammed down DDP, but couldn’t. He moved closer and closer and finally made a tag to Austin, but the ref did not see it and would not allow him to come in. Angle then got dragged right back over and double-teamed again.
All hell then broke loose in the ring. Taker and DDP were doing at it and Rhyno accidentally Gored Booker T. Taker was still working over DDP and then nailed him with a legdrop. He got him with a chokeslam while Booker T. and Austin went at it on the outside.
Taker grabbed the WCW ref and gave him the Last Ride in the middle of the ring. Taker then chased DDP out through the crowd and Austin was down on the outside. Booker T. and Angle were in the ring down and Buh Buh was on the attack on Kane outside. Click
