WWE Smackdown Results - July 24, 2003

Stepahine McMahon's music hits as she makes her way to ring side. She grabs the mic and she explains that her father is taking care of her mother, and tonight she's taking back full control of Smackdown! She says that everyone deserves some competition, and tonight The Big Show, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas will face Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar and Zach Gowan. She then addresses Sable, and says that she's gonna take out all her frustrations on her, treating her like the bitch that she is.

Suddenly John Cena's music hits, he makes his way to the ring and grabs the mic. He says that he's sorry to interupt Steph, as he goes into one of of his raps, saying how he had a dream about her last night. Saying at Vengeance he'll be glued to the boobtube, making reference to her chest. He then offers her twenty bucks to rip Sable's top off at the ppv, because he has a fetish with nipples. He says that Stephanie has more class than Sable, as he obviously makes a pass to her. Stephanie says that she dares Cena to follow through with his actions, as she bends over allowing him to slap her butt.

Then Sable's music hits, her picture appears on The Titan Tron above. She says that she always knew that Steph liked to be smacked around, but it doesn't compare to the beating that Sable gave her last week. Sable then shows the footage. But she conveniently edits Steph's footage when Steph took Sable down and security had to help her out. Sable then tells Steph to take care of her mother, while she'll be taking care of her father. She then Challenges Steph to meet her backstage, and Stephanie takes her up on her off, as she proceeds to walk backstage.


During the break, Stephanie is screaming backstage looking for Sable, as she comes across Torrie Wilson who seems startled by her appearance. Steph asks where Sable can be found, Torrie tells her somewhere in the parking lot.



Rey Mysterio and Kidman vs. Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore.
Jaime Noble vs Billy Gunn

Rey starts off with Matt, both men lock up, Rey's in control. Right hands, Mysterio's then whipped into the ropes and receives a kick to the mid section. Mysterio is whipped into the corner, but he quickly kicks Matt on contact and then tags Kidman who's in control. Kidman swings over the ropes nailing Matt with a leg drop, a quick cover, only two.

Hardy tags Shannon Moore, Shannon Moore whips Kidman into the corner, but is caught with a flying leg scissors. Kidman is chased in and out of the ring, long enough for Matt Hardy to interfere nailing Kidman with a fying clotheline to the outside. Shannon Moore is in control with Kidman, both men back in the ring. Hardy is tagged and picks up where Shannon left off. He's in control with Kidman, chokes him on the ropes. He then takes advantage with a neck breaker, and a quick count but only gets two. He tags in Moore, a double team effort allows Shannon to connect with a swinging neck breaker on Kidman, and gets a two count. Shannon Moore then uses a unique submission working on both his opponent's elbow and neck. He tags Hardy in who hits his opponent with a hard right hand, goes for the cover, only gets a two count.

Matt Hardy continues to put pressure on the back of Kidman's neck. Kidman breaks free and lands a nice bulldog headlock on his opponent. Both men are down. Mysterio's tagged in, with an innovative offence. He nails a bull dog on Hardy. And cleans house. Moore is tagged in, He goes for a 619 on Shannon moore, but Moore counters with a spinning kick.

Sit down powerbomb by Matt Hardy on Rey Mysterio. Shannon, the legal man goes for the cover, but only gets a two count. Mysterio hits his opponent with a kick, and tags Kidman. Matt Hardy is in, he takes control of Kidman quickly with a vicious assault. He then goes for a powerbomb on Mysterio, but he backboy dropped to the outside floor. 619 conects on shannon moore, placed in position for the shooting star press by Billy Kidman, and he connects and gets the win.

Winners: Rey Mysterio and Kidman


Sable is waiting patiently in the parking lot, Stepahine McMahon then shows up screaming "Come get some!" Stephanie chases Sable, she attacks Sable in the parking lot, slamming Sable's head into the hood of a car. She then rips at Sable's clothes tearing off her top, somehow Sable makes her way into the waiting limousine. Steph screams at Sable to let her in, but to no avail. Stepahine then picks up a steel bar as she attempts to smash the window...

But Vince McMahon suddenly apears on the scene stopping his daughters actions. He asks what the hell she's doing? She asks him why he's not at home taking care of her mother? Vince says that he doesn't have to answer to his daughter or his wife. Vince says that he has only one thing on his mind, and that's Stephanies match with Sable at Vengeance. Then Vince says that if Stephanie is not careful, she's gonna end up incapacitated like her mother. Vince then storms off. Stephanie throws down the steel object, and lets out a fast scream.


Jamie Noble vs. Billy Gunn


Noble grabs the mic, and he says that no one should jump to conclusions about his relationship with Nidia. Because the reason she's not here tonight is because she's sick. He then said it has nothing to do with his indecent proposal to Torrie Wilson last week. But still he wastes no time in asking Torrie once again what it will take for her to sleep with him. Before he can finish his sentence, Billy Gunn's music hits, as he makes his way to the ring.

Billy doesn''t waste anytime getting to Noble, swings him into the ropes hip toss. He then isolates his opponent with lefts and rights. But Noble buys himself some time throwing Gun outside, followed by a Power bomb on the ringside floor! Jamie proceeds to beat the snot out of his opponent outside the ring. He then chases after Torrie Wilson, chases her into the ring, but is met with a power one arm slam by Billy Gunn, who makes quick work of Noble with a three count.

Winner: Billy Gunn

After the match Jamie Noble says's he's not finished with Gunn, and he demands a rematch. He then says that he's twice the man Gunn is in bed.

Torrie Wilson grabs the mic and says that she's very confident in Billy's abilities, that if Jamie Noble defeats Gunn at the next ppv, she'll sleep with Jamie Noble next week on Smack Down! Billy Gunn is startled by the news.


Backstage The APA invites A-Train to the Bar room Brawl at the next PPV, as they announce the following participants: The Conquistadors, Brother love, Matt and John from Tough enough 3, and Doink The Clown. And The Easter bunny. A-Train accepts the invitation. The Brooklund Brawler asks for an invitation, but the APA says that he has to prove himself beforehand.


John Cena is shown outside, as he goes on with one of his signature raps. As he proceeds with a verbal onsault against the Undertaker. As he makes his speech, he's standing in the middle of a Satanic symbol, which is burning below him on the grass.


Eddie Guerrero vs Rhyno

Eddie Guerrero comes down to ringside, driving his car down the aisle. He grabs the mic and starts to talk about how much history he has with Chris Benoit, and how they've always ben friends. He invites Benoit to join him at ringside. Benoit's music hits as he makes his way to the ring.

Guerrero and Benoit embrace. Benoit grabs the mic, he tells Eddie that it's been months since he's referred to him as a friend. He then questions how many best friends Eddie has, he then rephases and ask how many friends someone who lies and cheats can have? He then says that if Eddie thinks Benoit's gonna lower his guard, Guerrero should quit wasting his time. Because nothing is gonna stop the best technical wrestler from winning the title.

Eddie laughs it off and says that he was lying, the truth is that he can't stand Benoit. Eddie says that he's always been in Benoit's shadow, and he's tired being second best. He says it's time for him to be number one. Guerrero says he's gonna prove Benoit wrong at the next PPV.

Benoit says that if Eddie has a problem he should try to prove Benoit wrong tonight, issuing him a challenge. But Eddie says that he shouldn't have to jump when Chris tells him to. And that when they face each other, it will be on his terms. Benoit turns his back, Guerrero attempts a sneak attack but is caught by Benoit. Frustrated, Guerrero sprays Benoit in the eyes with a car wax spray. Benoit screams in pain as Guerrero goes to work on him.

Rhyno then comes down to assist his friend Benoit, and challenges Guerrero to a match. He says that Eddie doesn't have any friends or any balls to fight him.

Back from commercial break, the match is underway. Guerrero's in control, isolating his opponent in the corner. But Rhyno reverse the attack with a beautiful reverse powerbomb with Guerrero's head crashing down in the corner. A quick count, but only two. Rhyno goes to work on Eddie with with a chin lock. He releases the hold long enough to work on Eddie Guerrero's neck, but then goes back to work.

Eddie Guerrero breaks free with a bridge suplex, but only gets a two count. Rhyno, quick as a cat locks on The crippler cross face on Guerrero, but he makes it to the ropes. Both men take it to the outside, but Eddie quickly turns things around with an assault outside. Guerrero tosses his opponent into the ring, hits a leg drop and gets a two count. Guerrero rips at Rhyno's neck, as the fans chant his name. The veteran Guerrero hooks his opponent in a rear chin lock. Rhyno breaks free, both men into the ropes, Rhyno hits a flying clothesline and get a quick two count. Then a spine buster, another quick count.

Rhyno's up on the top rope, Guerrero's back in control, hits a flying leg scissors off the top rope. But uses a non challant cover, only gets a two count. Rhyno wakes up, measures his opponent for the gore, Guerrero pulls the referee in front, Rhyno stops in his tracks. While the ref is distracted, a low blow by Guerrero on Rhyno, but as the ref turns around he pretends that he was on the receiving end. He then dropkicks Rhyno, and uses the ropes to gain the three count.

Winner: Eddie Guerrero



FBI vs APA

The match starts, a misscalculation allows Chuck Polumbo to kick his partner Johnny The Bull, this distraction gives Bradshaw just enough time to clothesline Polumbo for the three count.

Winners: APA

The match lasted no longer than a minute, but what happened afterward sure made up for it. The Brooklund Brawler appears on the scene taking the APA up on their offer, he wacks them in the head with a steel chair. The Basham Brothers then come down, with The Brawler's guidance they clothesline Bradshaw. A-Train and Sean O'Haire then enter the ring and conitnue the assault on The APA proving that they are more than ready for this sundays brawl. Sean O'Haire hits a nice kick to Bradshaw's chin, and A-Train hits a Vader Bomb from the second rope on Ron Simmons.


Backstage

Vince is shown with Zach Gowen. Vince says that he's gonna take advantage of Gowen Sunday. But still he has a lot of respect for what Zach has overcome in his life, but Vince has no sympathy for him. Vince says that after he beats Zach's ass Sunday people all over the world are gonna have real reasons to feel sorry for Zach. Gowen then tells Vince that he's sorry excuse for a human being. Suddenly Brock Lesner and Kurt Angle show up and Vince changes his tune, he wishes everyone good luck in their match tonight, because they're gonna need it.


Big Show, Sheldon Benjamin and Charlie Haas vs Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar and Zach Gowan

Angle starts with Benjamin. Angle's in control with a front head lock, Sheton goes behind with an arm bar but Angle's back in control, he hits a nice belly to belly suplex. But Charlie Haas distracts Angle long eough for Benjamin to take control with an elbow to the chest. He tags Haas, but before you know it Angle is back on the mark with an armbar to his opponent. Then a big hip toss and clothesline, 1-2 almost a three count He tags Lesnar who isolates his opponent in the corner, followed with a belly to belly suplex sending his oppoent across the ring. Gorilla press slam, he tags Zach Gowen in, he throws Gowen on Haas. Gowen then hits a killer leg drop on his opponent but only gets a two count.

Before you know it the double teaming starts on Gowen, and the Big Show is tagged in. Show goes to work with a vicious assault on Gowen, he signals for the choke slsm, but Lesnar takes out Show's legs. Gowen covers, 1-2, almost a three count. Angle is tagged in, but The Big Show ius too powerful for him, as he clotheslines him to the mnat, he then takes care of Brock Lesnar and pushes Zach Gowen to the outside.

All hell breaks loose, McMahon suddenly comes down to ring side and hideously attacks Zach Gowen with a steel chair to his leg. Both Angle and Lesnar clear the ring and then come to their fallen partners aid. Officials come down to carry Zach away.

Back from Commercial break. Angle is taking it to the Big Show, now a three on two match up. Big Show turns things around with a side walk slam. Footage is shown from the commercial break where The Big Show slams Lesner into the steel post from the outside.

Benjamin tagged in. Knees Angle to the gut, tags in Haas who inflicts more punishment on Angle, and goes for a quick cover. Double team action, Leap frog by Benjamin onto the lower back of Angle. a cover by Shelton, hooks the leg, only a two count. The big Show tagged back in. Huge Suplex to Angle. Big Show then locks on a half boston crab to his opponent. Angle reverses the hold with a qwuick roll up, but only gets a two count. But The Big Show is back in control, tags Haas. He whips Angle into the ropes, a beautiful belly to belly suplex by Haas, a two count.

Angle tries to gain control, but Shelton runs in with a huge super kick to Angle's chest. Another two count by Haas. Angle battles i out with right hands, but again double teaming perseveres. But Angle breaks through with a flying clothesline. Tags Lesnar, HERE COMES THE PAIN! A belly suplexs to Haas, he then isolates his opponent in the corner, but is caught with a big boot by the Big Show. Show signals for the choke slam, but Lesnar counters and hits a huge suplex on the Show.

Both men are down. Lesnar tags Angle, Kurt Angle cleans house. He locks his ankle lock submission on The Big Show. Lesnar hoists up Charlie Haas for the f5 but inadvertantly hits Angle with Charlie's foot as he swings his opponent around.

The Big Show has had enough, he hits Kurt Angle with a choke slam and wins the match by the count of three.

Winners: Big Show, Sheldon Benjamin and Charlie Haas vs Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar and Zach Gowan

After The Match, Brock Lesnar attacks his opponents with a steel chair, doing most of the work on the Big Show, with a shot to the back and then the cranium. He then F5's Charlie Haas. Angle and Lesnar then Argue as to who should hit the next chair shot, as they argue for the steel chair, Angle slaps Lesnar. Both men attampt to hit their finishing moves, first Lesnar wit the f5 and then Angle with the Angle slam but both fail. Then the Big Show comes in and cleans house chokeslamming both men simultaneously.
