WWE Smackdown! Results: 09/25/03

The show opens w/ The World Championship title in the ring, awaiting Vince McMahon's arrival, he's accompanied by the lovely Sable. Vince says that history was made last week when two world class athletes competed in an Iron Man Match. Only one man was victorious, and everyone will honor Brock Lesnar tonight! Before Vince can finish his sentence, Kurt Angle's music plays as he makes his way to the ring.

Vince McMahon tells Kurt that he knows why he came out, because Kurt wants to say that he was unfairly defeated last week. Then Vince says maybe that's not why he's here, the real reason is because he wants a rematch tonight! But Vince says it's not gonna happen. As Vince runs through possibilities of why Kurt is here tonight, he settles on the fact that Kurt is here to congratulate Brock. Kurt grabs the mic and says he not here to congratulate Brock, but to kick his ass. Kurt says one of two things will happen, Angle will beat the hell out of Lesnar in the ring or in the backstage area.

Suddenly John Cena's music hits, and he makes his way to the ring. But Angle is in no mood to mince words or hear Cena's tradmark rap, as he wails on him knocking Cena out of the ring. angle then says that he's determined to get his hands on Lesnar, as he leaves the ring area in search for The Champion.

Angle searches backstage, he finds Lesnars locker room, but it's empty. Suddenly John Cena shows up knocking Angle to the floor, gaining some retribution.


During the commercial break, footage shows John Cena fleeing the area, getting away in his car. Kurt Angle then orders Vince McMahon's limo driver to follow John Cena.


Los Guerreros Vs. Matt Hardy and Shannon Moore

Eddie starts off with Hardy, headlock by Guerrero, Hardy into the ropes, Chavo tagged in, beautiful tackle! Great team work action between the champions, a lot of fast covers, back and fourth action between both men. Shannon Moore is tagged in, Chavo is taken to the outside where Moore creates a nice defensive assault on his opponent, he throws him back in the ring.

Chavo's head is driven into the top turnbuckle, into the ropes, Chavo reveserses the momentum into a DDT. Eddie tagged in goes foot speed, back body drop, beautiful drop kick, follows by a spinning leg scissors. Shannon Moore gets in a cheap shot, enabling him to turn things around. But Eddie is on fire, lateral press pinning combo, almost a three count. Matt Hardy and Moore weren't exactly on the top of their game tonight, which allows Chavo is nail a side suplex on Shannon Moore, followed by a beautiful frog Splash for the victory.

Winners: Los Guerreros

After the match, Mart Hardy gains his second wind, hits a side effect on Eddie right into his championship belt. Eddie is in serious pasin, but he still has to defend his title later on tonight.


A-Train comes out

He says that for weeks he's been hearing how he can't beat Chris Benoit. But he says he can beat anyone in the area, especially the fans in the Philly Arena. A-Train then grabs the time keeper, tosses him in the ring and locks on the crippler crossface submission. Before you know it Benoit comes to the rescue.

He latches on his own version of the crippler crossface, A-Train breaks free, tosses Benoit to the outsde. He then blasts him w/ a steel chair across the cranium. Obviously very frustrated, but sending a message to anyone that stands in his way.


Backstage the medics are tending to Eddie Guerrero, he's screaming in pain but refuses to forfeit his title match.


Vince and Sable are shown backstage, Vince compliments Sable on how beautiful she looks, how her outfit accentuates her breasts, they then begin to make out. One of the sound technitions interrupts Vince, he becomes very aggitated by his untimely presence. But he tells him to make sure everything is just right during Brock Lesnar's presentation! Sable then tells Vince that "before this night is over, I will personally present you w/ me."


Rey Mysterio Vs. Tajiri

Both men lockup and break loose, Tajiri hits a lightning like kick, Mysterio blocks it. Tajiri takes down his opponent, then places him on the top rope. Mysterio reverses things and hits his opponent w/ a beautiful spinning leg scissor off the top rope. A lot of high flying action leads to a few quick half counts by Mysterio.

Mysterio makes one mistake which is enough for his opponent to lock on the Tarantula. Although Tajiri's game plan backfires as he's tossed to the outside, which allows Mysterio to hit a sling board flying action move, knocks Tajiri down to the floor.

Back from commercial break, it's been told that there has been a lot of back and fourth action. Tajiri is building confidence now in control, swift kicks to the mid section. A quick cover, but no three. He then hooks on a modified version of an abdominal stretch. He breaks loose, and kicks Mysterio in the chops. into the turn buckle, more more swift kicks to the mid section, another cover, but no three. Tajiri then hooks his legs areound Mysterio in a body scissors submission. Knees driven to the gut, quick pinning attempts, but to no avail.

Mysterio some how battles back, an attempted victory roll, turns into a bull dog head lock. Almost a three count. Just like that Mysterio can turn things around, again w/ a moonsault, but no three count. Mysterio is placed on the top rope, Tajiri kicks him in the head. Tajiri inadvertantly kicks the referee, Mysterio hits the 6:19 on Tajiri, measures him for the west coast pop, but Tajiri counters w/ a thrust kick. A new ref onto the scene, but no three count. Mysterio then hits the West Coast pop while the ref is distracted, this allows Tajiri to spew mist into his opponents eyes. Staggered, Mysterio takes a fast kick to the head and loses his title to the count of three.

Winner: Tajiri (New Cruiserweight Champion.)


The Basham Brothers Vs. Jamie Noble and Bradshaw

Bradshaw cleans house early on, leaving Doug Basham in the ring alone. Noble is tagged in, but doesn't have the same effect as his partner, he's quickly tossed to the outside, w/ the assist of Shaniqua. Basham brothers go to work, very good team work, slamming Noble to the mat. Doug Basham applies a unique underhook submission, Noble breaks loose, hits a leg sweep, followed by a neck breaker. Bradshaw tagged in, here we go! Hard chops to Danny Basham who's been tagged in. Fallaway slam by Bradshaw, he then kicks Doug off the apron.

On the outside, Noble's girl Nidia is clotheslined out of her socks by Shaniqua. The distraction doesn't phase Bradshaw, as he hits a clothesline on his opponent, but before he can get the three count, Shaniqua interferes gaining her team a disqualification.

Winners: Bradshaw and Jamie Noble

After the match, The Basham Brothers and Shaniqua go to work on Bradshaw, they then leave with their arms raised.


Eddie Guerrero Vs. Charlie Haas

Before the match starts, The Big Show rams Eddie Guerrero's back into the outside steel post, creating an advantage for Charlie Haas. Throughout the match Haas has the advantage, working on the lower back of the champion, stretching him like there's no tomorrow. Several pin fall attempts, but Guerrero refuses to quit.

Guerrero is rammed countless times into the ring post by his opponent, at several points in the match, the ref questions if Eddie can continue, Guerrero in all kinds of trouble but still wont tap out. Charlie Haas locks on his 'Haas of Pain' submission move, if this doesn't make Guerrero tap nothing will! And maybe nothing will, because Guerrero kicks out of the hold. Frustrated, Haas grabs the championship belt, tosses it into the ring.

As the referee is distracted, Guerrero seizes his opportunity, he wraps the belt around the ring post. Haas comes charging for Guerrero but hits smack dead into the championship belt, Guerrero then hits the frog splash off the top rope. Obviously in a lot of pain, still manages to make the cover and get the pin, defending two titles successfully tonight!

Winner: Eddie Guerrero


Championship presentation:

Vince McMahon is standing center of the ring, along with the beautiful Sable. He wastes no time in introducing the new WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar.

Ring announcer Tazz says you can be proud of. Michael Cole disagrees, stating Lesnars dispicable actions against Zack Gowen, pushing him down a flight of stairs.

Vince says that Lesnar is the new face of Smackdown! "This face, this champion is unstoppable!" Vince publicly congratulates Lesnar, and hands him the mic. The fans begin to chant, "You tapped out!" Vince tells them to all "Shut up!"

Lesnar speaks: "Say what you will because I'am the new WWE Champion.!" First and foremost Vince, I want to thankyou, because it was you who helped remind me of exactly who I'am! Yes I'am the Real Brock Lesnar, so deal w/ it. Secondly, I've got a few words for Angle, last week I had you in the palm of my hands, I had you exactly where I wanted you during the entire match Kurtis."

He goes on to say that Vince is right in saying that he's, Unstoppable! Suddenly The Undertaker's music hits, as he makes his way to ringside on a motor cycle!

Taker says that he respects the title, but he doesn't respect Lesnar. Taker goes on to to talk about how he wont forgive Lesnar for interfering in his championship match w/ Angle weeks ago. He then tells Lesnar to enjoy the belt, hang onto it real tight, heck even sleep w/ it, because Lesnar's first title defence is against The Undertaker. Vince questions who could make such a match?

Stepahanie McMahon's music then hits as she makes her way to the ring. She grabs the mic and responds w/ "On my authority, Dad!" She says Lesnar will defend his belt at No Mercy against Brock Lesnar. Vince says that if Steph doesn't take back her decision then she will be forced to face Vince McMahon at No Mercy, in a first ever "Father Vs. Daughter Match," catchy huh?

Stephanie says she's not changing her mind. Vince then goes to strike his daughter, The Taker stops him in his tracks, allowing Lesnar to nail The Taker w/ the Championship belt. Lesnar then puts the boots to Big Evil. He starts yelling at him, but Taker grabs Lesnar by the throat, executes a choke slam from hell! Taker poses w/ the title as Smackdown! goes off the air.
