CZW 6/12 ECW Arena results: New tag team champions, Trifecta Challenge II

Posted by Bob Magee

CZW returned to the ECW Arena (which for the first time in memory, actually had working air conditioning) last night for Trifecta Challenge II.

The evening opened on a somber note, as CZW opened the evening by playing a music video dedicated to Joe Bechler, one of the CZW security staff who was killed in a motorcycle accidentd 3 weeks ago at the of 19. Security staff wore armbands with Bechler's name on them for the evening.

Then a celebratory music video played for Joker, who is now at Fort Benning, GA in preparation to go to Iraq, along with clips of the Joker vs. Zandig Deathmatch, clips of which that aired on CZW Fake You TV this week as part of a sendoff show for Joker, which also featured his show-stealing match with Chris Cash at Cage of Death 5.

Match results:

  • Merc defeated Sean Bishop

  • Jon Dahmer (with Big Mack Smack) defeated Dee Jay Hyde, G.Q, and the returning Shun The Kabuki Kid

Dahmer and Hyde brought G.Q. around the ring chopping the hell out of his chest him before Dahmer finished him with The Move Of 1,000 Maniacs. Shun The Kabuki Kid appeared to be hurt during the end of the match.

  • First round Trifecta Elimination Challenge
Mikey Tenderfoot defeated Rod Steel and Justice

Rod Steel brought out his own referee from the 911, Inc. heel faction in NWA Florida, former CZW staffer Eric Loy, to handle the refereeing duties. Loy counted pinfalls for Steel. When Tenderfoot Justice had pins, Loy would either run around the ring, count slow, and in one hilarious spot answered a "phone call" on his cell phone at the count of 2.

Finally Justice hit a 450 onto Steel, and Tenderfoot made Loy count it. Tenderfoot then ended up pinning Justice in a surprise upset to move onto the finals. Some fans saw this as rather odd booking, given that Justice just won the well-publicized Jeff Peterson Cup

Post-match, Rockin' Rebel and Derek Frazier came out to talk. Rebel grabbed the mic and started another racist rant on Blackout, before CZW owner John Zandig made his return to the ECW Arena. He and Athletic Commission staff Frank Talent "suspended" Rebel for his "racist actions". A pissed off Rebel said, "F@$# it, I quit." Zandig offered Frazier a suspension too if he wanted it, but Frazier blew off Rebel. Then The Blackout came out to get their match underway.

  • The Blackout over Derek Frazier and Chri$ Ca$h

Frazier was getting his ass beat, before Chri$ Ca$h came out to join the fun.Ruckus and Sabian got the victory and than issued a challenge to the "two baddest @#@#$@ers on the planet"..

  • The Blackout win the CZW World Tag Team Titles by defeating The H8 Club

The H8 Club carried the match to The Blackout before finally The Blackout made a comeback and threw Nick Gage through a table, then tied up Nate Hatred to an ATV (there's finally a new weapon I've never seen used in a wrestling match) and dragged him backstage, leaving Gage alone, until Ruckus hit a dive onto him with a chair to get the pinfall and the belts.

Post-match, The Blackout continued their beatdown before DJ Hyde, Jon Dahmer, and Nick Berk ran in for the save. Well, two of them came to make the save.

Nick Berk got on the mike, and said "everyone needed to respect Gage because he was the man", then said "it's all about respect" and "he [Berk] needs some [respect] in the CZW locker room...he's gonna start kicking ass and taking names and the first one was gonna be... NICK GAGE."

Berk then turned on Gage and put him in the Texas 2k4 before Dahmer and Dee Jay again ae in for the save.

  • First Round Trifecta Elimation Challenge
Jay Fury defeated Jeremy V and Gabriel

Jeremy V was eliminated first by Gabriel, then Jay Fury eliminated Gabriel to move onto the final round. The crowd seemed subdued after the last match.

  • First Round Trifecta Elimination Challenge
Nate Webb defeated Jigsaw and Excalibur

In his usual insanity on the microphone, Excalibur got on the mic and proclaimed B-Boy the Hacksaw Jim Duggan and then claimed that he was challenging Goldberg to a match. So he did... and than out came Jigsaw and than Nate Webb.

Nate Webb was over like crazy, seeming to have the crowd in the palm of his hands during the pre-match and during the match. Note to CZW: keep bringing Webb back whenever possible.

Jigsaw eliminated Excalibur by pinfall first, then Nate Webb pinned Jigsaw to move onto the final round.

After intermission, Adam Flash and CZW World Heavyweight Champion Messiah were introduced where Messiah proclaimed he had a $5,000 bounty to anyone that could beat Trent Acid, and the first one to get the chance at this was Adam Flash.

  • Adam Flash defeated Trent Acid

Sort of an "eh" match, as early on, it seems the two weren't clicking that well. As it turned out, this match was largely done to serve as a set-up for an unscheduled Teddy Hart appearance. Hart helped Flash win by pinfall by holding onto Trent's leg while Flash hit The Last Call.

Adam Flash and Teddy celebrated post-match while Trent was being helped from the ring. At this point Teddy grabbed the mic and as usual all hell broke loose. Teddy said there's no one in CZW that can beat him, then Sonjay Duttcame out and ranted at Hart, with language that'll get edited for TV. Zandig had to come out and calm everyone down as everyone was pushing and shoving and even Acid was getting into it now. Zandig told Sonjay that now is not the time for Teddy, he'll get him down the line.

Zandig told Hart that if he can get past Sonjay, it'll be one-on-one, Zandig vs. Teddy in a "Hardcore match" (what kind of match or when not defined).

Zandig also announced the first bracket for Best of the Best 4, Teddy Hart vs. Trent Acid vs. Homicide.

  • CZW Iron Man Title Iron Man Rules Match
Chris Hero and B-Boy went initially to a 20 minute draw as Hero and B-Boy had a great match (imagine someone getting over iin Philadelphia with a cravat) that went the full 20 minutes without a decision. Post-match, B-Boy called out Hero to get him back into the ring. They fought outside of the ring while referee Mike Kehner counted, and in a perfect chicken$#@t heel moment, Hero threw B-Boy into the guardrail, and slid in the ring as Kehner counted 10, with Hero getting the fall, the win and retaining his CZW Iron Man Championship.

  • CZW Trifecta Elimination Challenge Final
Nate Webb defeated Mikey Tenderfoot and Jay Fury

Jay Fury defeated Mikey Tenderfoot first, then Nate Webb pinned Fury to take the "final" spot in Best of the Best 4.

  • CZW World Heavyweight Title-Unlucky 13/Panes of Glass Match
Messiah defeated Wifebeater to retain his CZW World Heavyweight Title

Now begins the senseless violence portion of our program.

The Unlucky 13 stip meant that the winner had to staple "thirteen dollars" to the loser (note wording carefully). Then Zandig told Messiah via the house mike, that the match would have two more things... 2 panes of auto glass.

This was insane with both Messiah and Wifebeater busted open, Messiah dripping from his top of his head. In the sick moment of the evening, Messiah was press slammed over the top rope by Wifebeater through a sheet of glass constructed over chairs on the floor.

Messiah had the lead 8 dollars - 5 dollars when he pulled out a $5 bill (note the "thirteen dollars" reference above) and stapled if to Wifebeater's head. As he did staple so, Wifebeater picked him up for a Chokebomb and put him through another sheet of glass but Messiah had already won.

CZW returns to the ECW Arena in July for Best of the Best; with Teddy Hart, Trent Acid, Homicide, Sonjay Dutt, Roderick Strong, Ruckus, B-Boy, Bobby Quance, former CZW Iron Man Champion Jimmy Rave, and "The Next" Alex Shelley annouced for the tournament this far.
