Ring of Honor returned to Dayton, OH last night. Here are the results:
Homicide defeated CM Punk after a chairshot to the head, and a lariat to the back of the head
Matt Sydal defeated Trent Acid with a rollup. The storyline was that Acid took Sydal for granted, coming out through the crowd with a cigarette, and toying with Sydal throughout the match. When Acid went for the finish, Sydal got him in a rollup for the pinfall.
Delirious and Jimmy Jacobs defeated Special K after Jacobs hit the Contra Code on Angel Dust.
Chad Collyer defeated Jay Letha via Texas Cloverleaf submission after working in Lethal's knee the entire match.
Dan Maff and BJ Whitmer defeated The Carnage Crew in a Hardcore Match. The match was originally a double DQ. Foley came out came out to be the referee and restarted the match. Post-match, Foley and Steamboat had a confrontation, with Foley telling Steamboat that his style of wrestling should be called "softcore". Two different reports called this head-to-head one of the highlights of the night.
Nigel McGuiness defeated Josh Daniels, Roderick Strong, and Matt Stryker in a four corner survival match.
Samoa Joe defeated Rocky Romero by submission with a STF to retain the ROH Title. The match was described as strong style, with lots of stiff action (as nearly all Samoa Joe's ROH matches tend to be).
In a 30 minute plus match, Jimmy Jacobs, Ace Steel, and CM Punk (with Ricky Steamboat and Traci Brooks) defeated Alex Shelley, Austin Aries, and Jack Evans in a six man tag. Traci Brooks took a baseball slide from Aries and was taken to the back.
Ring of Honor returns tonight to Chicago Ridge, IL tonight featuring a rematch of Samoa Joe defends his ROH Title against CM Punk; and for the "Weekend of Thunder" as Jushin Liger makes his return to the United States on November 5th in Boston, MA against "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and on November 6th in Elizabeth, NJ in a tag match with Samoa Joe against "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson and Low Ki.
